WELCOME TO PFLSA

Softball is a very exciting sport, and today, more than 20 million people around the world have participated in this activity. There are two main types of softball: fast and slow. In fast softball, the pitcher throws the ball in a straight line to the hitter as fast as possible. In high-level competitions, the speed of the ball can reach more than 100 kilometers per hour. In slow softball, the pitcher can only throw a slow ball with an arc, hence the name.

SOFTBALL

INTRODUCTION

A softball, although it is called a Softball, is not soft at all, it is hard like a baseball, slightly larger; a softball has a circumference of 12 inches (30.4 cm), and a baseball has a circumference of 9 inches (22.8 cm). Players’ speeds sometimes exceed 70 mph (over 110 km/h). Considering that pitchers stand closer than baseball pitchers, it’s fair to say that softball players have about the same reaction time as baseball players. Softball fields are much smaller than baseball fields, making softball a faster-paced sport. Players must be quick in the outfield and be able to run between the bases, while players who excel in the infield need lightning quick reflexes to play successfully.
